HYPER-REALISTIC ARTIST ALISA IAMANDI
Alisa Iamandi (born 1977) is a Romanian painter currently based in Bucharest. She specializes in large oil and acrylic paintings and is recognized both in the United States and Europe for her pieces.
Her technique is unique by flipping background and foreground using semi-transparent filters of glass, vinyl, steam, and water over shallow spaces. Her paintings hit the retina like bolts of lightning in a clear blue sky.
“My paintings,” remarks Alisa Iamandi “are intended to enable the viewer to experience reality once again”
Alisa Iamandi started painting at the age of 7 when was discovered by her drawing teacher. Influenced by the stereotypes of the communist regime in which she grew up, she chose to study economics, returning to painting only in 2007 when she felt truly free and independent.
